Detailing a Truck in Olathe: What to Know

F-150s, Silverados, Tundras, RAMs — what's actually different about detailing a truck in Olathe, and what we focus on.

Drive around Olathe for a day and you'll lose count of the F-150s, Silverados, RAMs, and Tundras. Trucks are the dominant vehicle in this part of Johnson County — work trucks, commuter trucks, weekend project rigs, lifted off-road builds. So when people ask "do you do trucks?" the answer is: we do a lot of trucks. They're our most common vehicle.

But detailing a truck is genuinely different from detailing a sedan, and the same flat price doesn't really fit. Here's how we think about it.

Trucks have more surface area, period

A full-size truck has roughly 30-40% more exterior surface area than a midsize sedan. Every panel takes more time. Every wheel is bigger. Door jambs are taller. Glass is bigger. The whole job scales up. That's why our pricing has truck-specific tiers — exterior at $189, interior at $249, and full detail at $399 — instead of a flat sedan price for everything.

This isn't a markup. It's just that a Silverado really does take an extra 45-60 minutes to do right.

The bed is its own service

If you actually use your truck — hauling mulch, dirt bikes, lumber, kayaks, whatever — the bed gets dirty in a way that the rest of the truck doesn't. We treat the bed as part of the exterior service for daily-driver trucks (sweep out, rinse, light wipe-down). For trucks that have been hauling something messy, we'll quote a deeper bed clean as an add-on.

Bedliners — spray-in, drop-in, or none — change the cleanup. Spray-in liners need a real scrub to get out the dirt that grinds into the texture. Drop-in liners need to be lifted out (we'll ask first) to clean what's underneath. Bare beds get pressure-rinsed.

Truck interiors take longer than people expect

Most truck owners think the interior of their truck isn't that bad because they vacuum it sometimes. Here's what we actually find:

  • Mud and gravel ground into the carpet under the driver's footwell, especially during winter and spring.
  • Dust on every horizontal surface — dash, console, rear shelf — because trucks see more dirt roads and gravel lots than sedans.
  • Pet hair on the back seats if there's a dog that rides along, which there often is.
  • Sticky residue from drinks in cup holders that haven't been cleaned out in a while.
  • Worn leather or cloth on the driver's seat bolsters from getting in and out hundreds of times.

A real interior detail on a truck takes 2.5-3 hours. We're not cutting corners on the second row or the cargo area.

Wheels are a special case

Truck wheels — especially the bigger 18, 20, and 22-inch options on F-150s, Silverados, and lifted builds — collect brake dust, road tar, and offroad grime in serious quantities. The standard wash isn't going to get into the lug nut wells and the spokes the way it should. Our exterior detail includes a wheel-by-wheel deep clean that makes a noticeable difference, especially on darker wheel finishes.

If you've got polished or chrome wheels, those get a different cleaner (and more careful drying). Just let us know up front.

Lifted trucks and offroad builds

For lifted trucks, the underside takes more abuse and shows more dirt. We'll do an underbody rinse as part of the exterior service if it's needed. For offroad builds that have been on actual trails, we recommend booking a full detail rather than just an exterior — the dust gets into the cabin in ways a vacuum alone won't fully fix.

Where in Olathe we do truck details

Truck owners ask us this a lot, so just to be clear: we'll come to anywhere in Olathe, Lenexa, Overland Park, Spring Hill, Gardner, or the surrounding cities. We need a parking spot wide enough that we can get around the whole truck — most driveways and apartment lots are fine, even with a longer-bed truck.

If you're in a tight townhome lot in central Olathe and you're not sure we'll have room, send a quick photo when you book and we'll figure it out before we show up.

The short version

Trucks are bigger, take longer, and get dirtier than sedans, and our pricing reflects that honestly. If you've got an F-150, Silverado, RAM, Tundra, Tacoma, or anything with a bed, book a detail and we'll come out to your spot in Olathe. The full detail is usually the right pick for trucks that haven't been done in 6+ months.
